Led to Genesis Bible Fellowship Church
In celebration of Genesis Bible Fellowship's 40th Pastoral & Church Anniversary we would like to take the month of June to share Devotionals based upon when and how the Lord led each writer to Genesis! Bible Fellowship Church. Enjoy today's devotional and may it remind you of when you were led to this branch of Zion!
SCRIPTURE “And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-12
SCRIPTURE: “For you were bought at a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” I Corinthians 6:20

God brings us to and through transitions of life in a way that He is the only explanation of victory. When my husband and I were led to Genesis Bible Fellowship Church, we had been exposed to so much. The Lord Jesus had us, though. For He knew before the beginning of time that we would be where we were.
The Lord saw fit to bring an awareness of the BSOB (Baltimore School of the Bible) where there were some established men who believed, knew, upheld the message of Jesus the Christ, and proclaimed the gospel message that others would also become strong and convinced Christ is the One; and not look for another. They not only named His Name, but they believed He was the true and living God and that Christ is the Great Jehovah, the Great I am. They believed with power and conviction that Christ was born from a virgin birth; and that He died on the cross for the sins of the world and that He is indeed "the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen!!. (1 Timothy 1:17)" They believed what scripture proclaimed: Jesus is our advocate who sits at the right hand of the FATHER ever living to make intercession for those of us (Romans 8:34) who believe on that Name of Christ! Yes, the pastors and teachers at the BSOB were deemed rooted in truth, safe; yes, reliable.
With no church home, the Lord gave a powerful starting point to the search. For the believer is called to move and have their being; their faith in Christ. After mighty encounters with the WORD of God at Genesis Bible Fellowship Church with Pastor Cockrell, certainly the Lord revealed our new church home.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for the way You lead us in the path of righteousness. A personal walk used to grow us on this side of eternity. For You give us our identity. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we choose to trust in only You. You made us a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, Your special people (I Peter 2:9). Grateful, that You always cause us to triumph! Thank You for Genesis Bible Fellowship Church and Pastor Cockrell. You continue to form and shape this body to be more like Your Christ…To be the very light You made us to be. Giving You, Father, all the Honor and all the Glory. You are forever and always worthy to be praised. In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
