Position of Favor

SCRIPTURE: “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from this who walk uprightly.” Position of Favor Psalm 84:11

SCRIPTURE: “For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord.” Proverbs 8:35
In this life, let’s face it, making decisions all of the time makes us vulnerable.  Whether right or wrong, the decision we make can change the trajectory of our entire life.  Our challenge comes when we choose not to quiet the noise of the world.  As believers, we have a greater resource; therefore, we can silence the world.  We can overcome with Jesus, yes, the Word of God!

The Word of God makes overcoming practical.  I will never forget the amazement I felt the day I heard Pastor simply say that when we open the Bible, we are in a direct encounter with God.  That when we read the words on each page, we can choose to read them fast or slow; we can choose to read the words repetitively or one time only.  How we choose to delve in God’s Word will determine the understanding and wisdom gained from the encounter.

So, we move through life based upon the resource we choose.  We can opt to go with what we see around us or be considerably sound in judgement; and choose to align with God’s Word.  2 Timothy 3:16-17 reads, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.  Praise the Lord!

The ideal desire of the believer is to please God.  If we do, we will do what He says.  He tells us to humble ourselves to receive His grace (James 4:6).  He tells us to meditate on His Word day night to have good success (Joshua 1:8).  He tells us to delight in His law and we will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season (Psalm 1:2-3).  Diligently and intentionally choosing to please the true and living God sets us up for favor on earth as it is in heaven.

PRAYER:
Lord, we thank You for how You reveal truth.  Though You have given us a will, in Your Word, we are directed and instructed to beat our will into submission to You.  We are grateful to understand that it is a blessed decision to commit our way to Your Will.  May we, forever, desire to have You lavish Your unearned goodness, grace, and mercy upon us.  In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
