Choosing to Have the Mind of Christ

SCRIPTURE: “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus,” Philippians 2:5
We must change our past thinking process if we are going to grow into Christlikeness. Romans 12:1-2 says “I beseech you brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

If our experiences, environments, and educational attitudes are negative, then the beliefs about ourselves, others and life will be on the negative side. By renewing the mind with God’s Word, we develop new beliefs, which become safety filters to strain our thoughts, emotions, and actions. God uses faith to integrate this new potential into our new belief system.

We are now enabled to think differently about ourselves from God’s perspective. II Corinthians 10:5 “casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” God ’s Words + Right Thinking+ Right Emotions = Right Actions. A bridge is now developed from our old perspective to a new potential, being more Christ-minded, and well pleasing to God!

PRAYER: Holy Spirit, may I choose to discipline my heart with Your Word to think right, even when I don’t feel right to do and obey Your will.
