DISTRACTION: A TOOL OF THE ENEMY
SCRIPTURE: “ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:10-11

An account given by a retired police officer described how thieves often use distraction to rob unsuspecting storekeepers. They enter as a small group, then split up. One group kickstarts a “disturbance” in one part of the store, causing most eyes to be diverted to the source of upheaval. Some time later-- perhaps hours or even days later—the storekeeper learns of his victimization, but by then it’s too late!
What a brazen method of operation, and yet how easily we, too, can become distracted by the Evil One. Satan and his unwitting human vessels—those in Adam as well as unguarded souls who are in Christ-- can unwittingly permit a diverse set of distractions to remove our focus from the Lord’s unique and divine purpose(s) for us. Oh, but don’t divert your eyes from God’s unique purposes for you, beloved. Each of His twice-born children are precious in His sight, and rest assured, He does not practice favoritism, says Galatians 2:6.
Each child of the King is specially appointed to stay on track and undistracted for His glory’s sake. That said, keep His divine agenda for you at the forefront of your heart and spirit! Take time to nourish your spirit with the Bread of Life each day. Its necessity cannot be overestimated. Time alone with the Lord makes all the difference! Avoid the enemy’s attempts to distract, confuse, steal, kill, and destroy.
PRAYER: Thank You, dear Father, for reminding us that greater are You who is in us than he that is in the world. I praise You for having given us access to divine spiritual armor wherewith we can withstand all the distractions that the enemy of our souls may launch. AMEN.
