Be a Fountain

SCRIPTURE: “But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation. 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.” I Thessalonians 5:8, 11
I have a dear sister in Christ and friend who texts me every now and then just to build me up in the things of our LORD JESUS.  She sets out to pour in me God’s truths, wisdom and even His humor.  For all intents and purposes, I refer to her as one of my fountains.  After I read her texts, I am built up in my attitude, and I am led to praise our Lord.  With praise and thanksgiving, I realize that we, the body of Christ, are granted the privilege to pour into one another.

God’s Word is a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105).  Many times in our life walk, we require reminders and exhortations.  They test our walk and our readiness to turn away from sin. They cause us to align our behaviors with the God we say we love.

With all the layers of noise and distractions our lives encounter, no wonder, God commands us to be strong only in His might and to put on His armor.  He urges us to resist the devil; and if we do, the devil will flee from us.  We are called to be alert and vigilant in our walk so much so that we guard our minds in Christ Jesus.

We answered the call to salvation to bring our God pleasure and glory.  Therefore, we want to be that one who will encourage those around us to the point that they are gripped and pulled to see Jesus in whatever situation they may find themselves.  The goal is that they may know that their current trial or challenge is not a coincidence or an accident, but they were chosen to ultimately bring glory to the Father.  Amen & Hallelujah!!

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for our salvation and our call to point others to You.  Lord, may we never see our service to You as routine or mundane.  Oh, that we would be excited to be used as Your mouthpiece.  Yes, that we would be Your love letter to all those You have entrusted to us.  Lord, we thank You for Your Great Power, yes, Deliverance in all life’s storms and experiences.  In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
