GREAT Praise

SCRIPTURE: “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17
And so it was, I worked on Thanksgiving Day. I came in with a message, “You guys, thank God for giving us Jesus!” as I entered the Documentation Room on our unit at work. Just like any other day, the technicians were babbling and scrambling over their patient assignments. I got a few looks that were just to let me know they heard me. I was just grateful to revere, honor, say “JESUS” amongst the entire unit.

Many folks likened Thanksgiving only to the pilgrims who started the turkey and family tradition. And that is good. However, the holiday, as Minister Arnell stated Sunday,  is the observance of thanking God for giving us Jesus. The anticipated holiday expressed in this light excited my soul. The gift of Jesus truly is a gift that keeps on giving.

I think about my sin, iniquity, transgression, trespass and how it is absolutely repulsed the only One who truly loves. Christ being the bond, that is, the redeemer that would enable God’s love to reach me. He made it all possible that I could live on earth in His peace; and have a place eternally in the heavens.

There needs to be gratefulness, thankfulness expressed to the God of the universe and the heavens. To remember the way Christ was tortured and was tortured for me brings me to my knees. Brings me to humble places. For It was me that landed Him on that cross. I am just Grateful, saints! Hallelujjah!!

How should we respond to the Lord’s redemptive, delivering, bountiful love? We should echo the psalmist (Psalm 107), OHHHHH, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! The psalmist went on to exhort us with, Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

PRAYER: Lord, how can we say thanks for Your many actions of love towards us. We run out of words to actually express our gratitude. Your redeemed will continue to bless Your Name, Oh Lord. We give You Honor, Praise, Glory for You are our Creator, King, Strongtower, Rock, yes, our balm in Gilead. In Jesus’ Name-Amen!!
