Shopping with Scriptures (A Comedy) Saints of God
SCRIPTURE: “A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.” Proverbs 17:22

I really really really enjoy going shopping with Biblical scriptures,
Taken quick trips to Target to find my favorites written on portraits and pictures.
I can’t explain the excitement in my belly, whether the drive is near or far,
Especially when reading scriptures from license plates or stickers on the back of cars.
Making my first stop at a rest stop for coffee, snacks, and gas,
Reciting, “This is the Day that the Lord has made” while customers pass.
Unexpectedly, I ran into some old friends, Wendy, Mike, and Jenifer,
Anticipating the opportunity to encourage, witness, and or minister.
Saints of God!
Time is flying, and you already know, I had to continue my shopping,
The store workers are organizing and labelling products and items for stocking.
First stop is the Dollar Tree, there is nothing like saving good money,
I must pick up pens and pads for my notes in church and Bible study.
My next stop is Marshalls, I love their memorabilia, vases, and decorative figures,
My dining and living room have so many items where scriptures are posted and written.
Saints of God!
My next stop is Ikea, where engraved furniture and frames are available,
God’s Word is exposed and visible, plus the prices are affordable and reasonable.
Now it’s lunch time, and saints, I’m on my way to Chick-fil-A,
Where the worker’s service and attitude are done in order, God’s way.
Although I am at a fast-food spot, my grace and prayers will not stop,
I refuse to eat any food worthy of God’s grace, or claim I forgot.
Then, I got a call from Sister Debbie, who wanted to shop for scriptures with me,
I started praying about my attitude, just in case she slows me down or hinders me.
Saints of God!
Prayer is needed! We headed to Towson Mall, where the youth stand tall,
Yet, we wanted T-shirts and hats that said, “All things are possible with God!”
We even went into the candle store for sweet-smelling fragrances,
Debbie found two candles labeled, “Love is kind” and “Love is patient.”
Then, we ran into two youngsters and began to minister and witness,
We treated them to key chains that read, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us.”
Now, you know, at some point, we had to stop at Walmart for snacks, dinner, and dessert,
While so, we found kitchen appliances and bedroom products inscribed, “Created in Christ Jesus for good works”
Saints of God!
Then there are shoe stores, sometimes I purchase, or sometimes I just try them on,
But my primary purpose is to pray for anyone who buys them once they are found by the Lord.
Sometimes I am torn between JCPenney, Macy’s, or Nordstroms,
It gives me a chance to leave biblical tracks at the eatery, on countertops, or in restrooms.
Shopping is my ministry, so shoppers and customers are my targets,
I can be found on any day at malls, outlets, boutiques, or markets.
I am not ashamed, my shopping with scriptures is a joyful marathon,
Although we are on our way home, whatever I forgot, there is always Amazon.
PRAYER: Lord! I am sure You laugh out loud when it comes to Your children. You even offer the opportunity to laugh in the scripture. It’s a gesture that exposes the peace, hope, and encouragement You provide for us. Thank You Jesus!
