Cause Everybody’s Doing It

You may have seen experiments whereby we watch how people follow other people’s actions and often without a word being spoken. The subjects who are unaware of the experiment (like many of us) follow those who are part of the experiment for no other reason but to fit-in. These experiments prove that in many circles, there are people who fear being labeled as “different”.

In today’s culture, a Christ believer and follower often stands alone and is labeled as weird in many cases. God has left us marching orders in His Scriptures. The direction God gives is not only better than man’s, but God’s order is best and the safest practice. Just because the masses are choosing to make decisions that are independent from God and His Word, does not mean it is okay, or is in any way acceptable.

There are many patterns of behavior our culture has embraced that are diabolically against God’s order; but I believe the one that has caused the greatest damage to society is the displaced family. In God’s sovereignty and authority, He decided that there should be the family which includes the man (as Patriarch and provider) and the woman (as Matriarch, help mate and keeper of the home). These two are to be joined together in marriage and become as one unit under God. That unit is commanded to be fruitful and multiply on the earth. This is God’s plan and His order for the “Family.”

Though many aspects of God’s order and plan for the family continue to be under attack, Christ believers can without apology encourage and promote what God has said. When given any opportunity, we can direct attention to the weight of choices and how choices carry with it either blessings or curses. We can proclaim: True blessings come from the Lord; therefore, son/daughter, choose to serve the Lord! Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your written plan for the family. May we realize our essential role of being light and salt on the earth. Give us boldness and the ability to speak with clarity Your way, Your love that others would choose to separate themselves from the culture to follow You and be blessed. In Jesus’ name- Amen!
