SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER with Pastor Wayne Cockrell

SCRIPTURE: “as you know how we exhorted, and comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own children, 12 that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the Word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the Word of men, but as it is in truth, the Word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.”  1 Thessalonians 2:11-13
Our eternal Father in Heaven, we gather our hearts now in anticipation once again as we open Your Word that You would speak to each heart in this place. We are fully aware that You know everything about us and as you have made clear to us, nothing is hidden from Your site. In that awareness, Father, we lay ourselves open to yield, and to cooperate with whatever Your Word works in so that our thinking and doing, and our speaking in our walk of faith with You would be pleasing in Your sight.  In knowing that we are unfinished and that much work still is ahead of us, if the Lord Jesus does not come back for us, we want, Lord God, for You to have Your way to make us better. That we might be useful to You and that our lives would bring for much fruit and that through our lives there would be the flavor of Your character and the fragrance of Your character so that Your presence, wherever we go, is well established.  So, use me, I pray, this morning once again as Your servant that I may speak in accordance to Your Oracles.  When it’s all said and done, we will be careful to give You all the praise, and all the honor, and all the glory, Father, because we ask it in Jesus’ name amen and amen.
