SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER with Pastor Wayne Cockrell

SCRIPTURE: “How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104 Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. 106 I have sworn and confirmed that I will keep Your righteous judgments. 107 I am afflicted very much; revive me, O Lord, according to Your word. 108 Accept, I pray, the freewill offerings of my mouth,  O Lord, and teach me Your judgments.” Psalm 119:103-108
Father in heaven, we thank You once again for the great gift of Your Son, the Lord Jesus. We thank You so very much for the many ways and the many times You have spoken to us and given unto us the Word that fits right where we are in our hearts. You meet us where we are, and You engage us where we are. You are faithful to give us instructions, you’ve been faithful to give us encouragement, the rebuke we’ve needed. You’ve given unto us everything that we’ve need over the years as You have spoken to us. Today, we yield to the Holy Spirit once again, desiring to be spoken to personally, intimately. That You would deeply penetrate anything in us that exalts itself against you; anything in us that resist the full reign of the truth, that You would tear it down. That the Word would wage war and cause everything in us to be broken and destroyed that is against You. We ask, Father, Your favor upon me as a preacher, that You would enable me once again to speak in accordance to Your Word and when it is all said and done, Lord God, we’ll be careful to give You all the praise and the honor and the glory for we ask it all in Jesus’ name, amen and amen.
