Love like the Only Living God

SCRIPTURE: “For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf be reconciled to God.”  2 Corinthians 5:14-15, 20
In my daydreams, I think about heaven and how once we arrive and all is revealed (what mattered and what did not), we will understand the plight of life. The role of those ‘God- allowed’ and strategic distractions will be unveiled. We will be able to realize the simplicity of God’s plan. How many of you struggle to love those we label, “hard to love”? You would certainly rather these folks be removed or relocated that you would be able to avoid and definitely ignore.

In Christ, there are no coincidences. Those folks may be assigned to us or better than that; we are assigned ‘for’ them. They are found subtly, but count as major moments of our lives. Yes, they help to determine our true maturity in Christ. For He is the very One we are being conformed to-Amen. We sing; we proclaim: Worthy is the Lamb of God! He is our everything and we long to please Him only.

The “hard to love” folks, in question, may serve as a means to measure our effectiveness as epistles and lights to this world. It becomes right serious, as our Lord knows us inside and out; therefore, there is nothing we can hide. We cannot present any witnesses to help our case. Here is where we must drop our heads and seek the Lord’s face and His almighty help. We realize our dependence and vulnerability. Praise the Lord for His great deliverance and example of love. We are the only ones to point it out. Yes, we are the redeemed. We are the vessels of Christ’s outstanding mercy, grace; yes, His all sufficiency. We are the appointed ones forever moved and constrained to love like the only Wise, Eternal Holy Father in Heaven. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Lord, we thank You for the riches of Your grace. You bring to our attention our expected commitment to yield to You, our God, the Holy Spirit. Help us to rest in how we are to raise our love practices to intentionally glorify You, our Savior. May we, as Your beloved walk in our assignment with joy and diligence. We realize You are our King and we are Your ‘blessed- beyond-measure’ servants. In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
