Because of Good Friday…

SCRIPTURE: “Every good and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.”  James 1:17

Don’t you just love the life-giving, reviving truths found in God’s Holy Word? Bill and Gloria
Gaither, who penned the words to that wonderful hymn, “Because He Lives (I can face tomorrow), must have had our Savior’s resurrection in mind when they penned those thoughtful and spirit- reviving lyrics. Think of it! Because Jesus arose, we can humbly yet boldly approach His throne of mercy at any time, praying in accordance with His will, knowing that our liberation from sin’s dominance and eternal penalty have been accomplished!

Bearing in mind each of us who would believe on Him, He permitted evil men to torture and
crucify Him, the sinless Lamb of God; but because Jesus arose, we are uniquely blessed to enjoy His continual Presence within us [Colossians 1:27]! Because He arose, our purpose in this world has enduring significance now and throughout this earthly pilgrimage-- for ourselves and others whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life [Revelation 22:27]. Because He arose from the grave,

YES, we’ve been empowered to love even unlovable folks—which we ourselves once were,
according to Titus 3:3—and we need not live in fear [Isaiah 41:10; Matthew 10:26, 28]!! Because He arose and conquered death, the last enemy, we live in the blessed assurance that we who are His have been saved from the wrath to come upon the children of disobedience [1 Thess. 5:9]. HALLELUIAH!!!  What a good, good Friday! What an amazing and glorious Savior is ours!
 
PRAYER: Dear Father, because we by Your sovereignty and grace have been exposed to so much of who You are and what You have freely given to us, quicken our hearts this day to live as people who truly know You. May we be in continual pursuit of You! Thank You, Abba—in Jesus’ name—amen.
