Impressed

SCRIPTURE: “He went a little farther, and fell on the ground, and prayed that if it were
possible, the hour might pass from Him. And He said, ‘Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.’”  Mark 14:35-36
I love it when I meet a person in whom I am impressed. Hey, I am the first to say that I am no one to go out of your way to awe, but I am speaking about those folk who wear their
character, and behavior everywhere they go. Oh, let us never lose the awe of our Lord. He is foremost and forever the impressive One! The Godhead deemed it necessary that we see God the Son in the garden of Gethsemane praying to God the Father. His prayer can ignite those who are His. In all of His agony and tears, He still submitted to the horrific death He would need to die to satisfy His Father’s Holy demands. He would die in our place! Christ stamped His submission, yes, His yielding to God the Father with, “Let Your will be done”.

Oh, let the Name of our Lord Jesus, the Christ be praised for though He is God the Son, He
was vulnerable to His Father...He knew His obedience to die would be the only way we could have a chance to live. It had been already determined, Christ would honor the will of the Father all so we could be given an opportunity to reconcile with the Godhead. We see Him (God wearing flesh) asking the Father if the horrific cup of death could be avoided, but in His deity, He understood the sacrificial death and He was equipped and ready to please God the Father.

It was me; I did it! I sinned; for the fall of man was and is, real and true. The Godhead, even
before time began, saw our desperate need of a great act of love. Christ was deemed the only One that could provide our way of escape. Jesus counted the cost and embraced the Father’s will. Again, He knew the plan of redemption and understood the matters of our wicked hearts. God deemed us worthy of His love; yes, worthy of His Son’s suffering and ultimate death on the dreadful cross. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Thank You God for determining before time to give us a chance to eternal life. Thank You for the plan that the Son would show us submission and a will to please only the Father. Thank You for Your death on the cross, Jesus. You died a death and accomplished the redemption plan we could have never endured or satisfied. Help us to always remember Your absolute Love toward us! In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
