Order and Glory

I struggle with forgiving folks who intentionally and blatantly wound me. You know, I have those thoughts and or prayers, even wishing, that God would defend me on the spot. It is not until I realize that I have crossed the line in my thought patterns. Yes, I have sinned; and what does God require from us when we sin? Yes, repentance! Admit it, I did it and quit it! (Pastor Cockrell) The funny thing is, this type of sin usually has me all hemmed up. I actually believe that I am justified, somehow, in feeling unrighteous. However, our absolutely Holy God has set in place that there is never any justification in unrighteousness.

God already knew that we would have these tendencies in such unholy thoughts or deeds. He gave us to keep ‘in our pockets’ such passages of scripture as: “Vengeance is mine (Romans 12:19 )” and “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23)”   Have you ever screamed a praise of gratefulness for the fact that our Father in Heaven loves us with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3); and only desires that we prosper (Jeremiah 29:11). Hallelujah! He wants us to mature and prosper on the inside (as we obey Him) so much so, our hearts turn to and for Him. Then and only then would He be glorified by the behavior we exhibit on the outside. Glory is our purpose on this earth. We are called to do all to the glory of God (1 Corinthians10:31). We are to let our light shine before others, that they may glorify the Father (Matthew 5:16). Yes, we are enlisted in this soldier experience to become more like the Son, the Christ, all so we may please the Father in Heaven.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for the order You have designed. You have made us conscience of You. Even the scientific earthly laws align, bring forth, and signify Your order. May we, Your children, walk accordingly to promote Your Word, Your Order, and ultimately bring You glory, honor and praise. In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
