SUNDAY MORNING PRAYERS with Pastor Wayne Cockrell

SCRIPTURE: “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.  15For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:14-16
Our eternal Father and our gracious God, once again this morning as a people we bow ourselves before Your throne of grace in recognition of who You are and bowing in great adoration and praise for there is none like You. You have manifested Yourself in so many ways to give evidence to us of who You are and that You are a rewarder of them that diligently seek You. Our hearts are filled with thanksgiving because You have been there. Many of us in this place know that in the darkest hours of our times, You have been there and You have shown us what true mercy and grace is. There are truly no words that we can offer up to You that could ever encapsulate the depth of gratitude, but we bow our hearts and say, “Thank You.” This morning as we assemble as a people, we want to offer up a sacrifice of praise to You, we want to be obedient, we want to be filled with Your Spirit, we want to be brought into the inner sanctum of worship, that our hearts would know that we are near. That we would burn with the kind of burning the disciples on the road to Emmaus had in the presence of Jesus. So, we yield now, and we lift this service up to You. Father, we have seen throughout the week even in the saving of one of our saints’ lives, one of our young people at the swimming pool. Once again You have been a deliverer even in the seemingly regular activities of life. You have proven that You are with us, and we give You honor and praise. Please bless that young lady. Give unto her a testimony that she would speak forth in years to come, how in the midst of her young life she has seen the hand of Almighty God deliver her and we thank You for that and we give You honor for that and we give You praise this day in Jesus’ name, amen and amen!
