Authority Has Given Us Authority

45 Days of Praying for the Elections – DAY 46
SCRIPTURE: “Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will [a]bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. 4 For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. 5 Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.” Romans 13:1-7
My responsibility in the election is to adhere to the Lord,
He is the Authority that’s given me the authority to fill spiritual voids.

The authority is appointed and entrusted by the Lord Himself,
If I resist, I am responsible for placing the Lord's priorities on a shelf.

If I choose a ruler with policies with ungodly Kingdom guidelines and adjustments,
I am positioned to deny the voice of God’s people while facing judgment.

The Lord is watching and observing to see how His people respond,
Does His righteousness matter or do worldly views matter despite their wrong.

Those who choose good, the Lord will ultimately praise,
Those who choose evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain.

So, our decisions must be made in good conscience,
Holy Spirit driven with wisdom to signal and prompt us.

Now, we must submit to governing authorities because God has established them,
They serve His purposes so that Christian favor will glorify and represent Him.

My prayers are whoever submits to God’s authority will represent who won,
The Lord is still on the throne, so not my will, but thy will be done.

PRAYER: Have Your way in this election, Lord. We are assured that You will be on the throne no matter who is elected. Continue to remind us to respect authorities who are in governing positions. We ask for Your will! In the matchless name of Jesus
