GOD’S RIGHTEOUS STANDARD is our Example

45 Days of Praying for the Elections – DAY 44
SCRIPTURE: “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Proverbs 14:34
From Abraham until this present time, God’s standard has aways been “righteousness” because He is Righteous. David said in Psalms 35:28 “And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness and of Your praise all day long” and in Psalms 40:9, “I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness in the great assembly; indeed, I do not restrain my lips, O LORD, You Yourself know.”  David did not hold back from declaring God’s righteousness as a leader and we should not expect anything else either. If a leader’s policies are unbiblical then we must stand on God’s Word and if they have biblical policies, then we ask the Lord’s favor. We must first pray for their salvation and trust the Lord for whom He will raise up for such a time as this.

As we know, obedience to God’s righteous standard of truth will exalt a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. When God’s people, the Jews, obeyed they were blessed, but when they disobeyed the Lord chastened and even killed some (I Corinthians10:6-13). Thus, our example! So here we stand with the privilege in America to vote according to God’s standard. As Joshua said, “choose this day whom you will serve.”

PRAYER: Lord Your Word says that one day we will give an account for things done in the body whether good or bad. Give us Your wisdom and boldness to be in the world as Your representative making a difference for Your GLORY!!
