REVIVAL: God’s Plan

45 Days of Praying for the Elections- DAY 40

SCRIPTURE: “I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word!! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long-suffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” 2 Timothy 4:1-3

As a child growing up in church, I watched older saints including, but not limited to, my Pastor making bold proclamations about the presence of God and our responsibility to please the Lord in testimony and songs. I was so impacted that I would come home and pretend (with my family Bible and my mom’s perfume bottle as my microphone) to also have something to say about the Lord. As an adult looking back, I have come to relate to those older saints’ testimonies. I have come to understand the importance of the proclamation of God’s Word and His faithfulness to the masses, especially to those of the household of faith. He supplies us with what we need to exist today in church and in state.

Saints of God, we will give accountability of all we have heard and learned, Sunday after Sunday, from our God appointed Pastor. After we have tested Pastor’s message against the Word of God; and found that it is indeed what God has said, we are accountable and called to walk in truth daily (whether in church or in state) and share with another (in or outside of the faith). For Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” That is the plan that all will hear and become a follower and ultimately a defender of what we know the Lord Jesus has clearly said.

All that’s righteous and holy is in the Scriptures, and God has sent servants that are given to the ministry and will be held accountable to share what God deems necessary for the body of Christ to hear. If they fail to teach or choose to deceive the body for the love of money, or for fame, or popularity, how will the saints learn to be light and salt in this dark world.

PRAYER: Lord, we thank You for the plan that You have set. It is perfect and true! Give Pastors, Bishops, and Fathers of the faith, all the strength to stand and speak Truth despite the wiles and pressures of the devil, that they may flourish and be encouraged, even as they suffer the persecution that is sure. In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
