The World Doesn’t Define Us
Ecclesiastes 7:10 says “Do not say, ‘Why were the former days better than these?’ For you do not inquire wisely concerning this.” But the 1970’s did seem better than the 2020’s, nevertheless, the climate of our country has always been at odds with the Word of God. So this week our Devotional Team will tackle the subject, “The Climate of Our Country and the Christian” which is sure to stir up our thinking about our walk in this world.
SCRIPTURES:
"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
"To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him. 10 We have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets." Daniel 9:9-10
"O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies. 19 O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name.” Daniel 9:18-19

Lord please, give Your attention to the devastation and misery that we face,
Despite we are Your chosen, we have succumbed to the world's wicked ways.
As we call Your name today our voices are unfamiliar,
We should be calling for Your goodness, yet we cry for our failures.
Still, Your great mercies have endured continuously,
O’ Lord, hear us and forgive us, desperately and urgently.
Remember the people that are called by Your name,
Deliver us from evil and remove our guilt and shame.
Give us the strength to withstand the times,
Let Your truth lead the way, while my choices follow behind.
We are humbled now that we are seeking Your face,
Past failures are forgiven due to Your mercy and grace.
Although, the world’s condition remains the same,
It’s Your pleasure that’s the priority and our daily aim.
And although we are undeserving Your sovereignty reigns,
Whether we choose to be indifferent, Your ways never change.
All the praise and glory are due to You because You are worthy,
We will hide Your Word in our hearts while committing to serving.
So, when your people rebel and fall out of spiritual alignment,
We are reminded we belong to You, it’s not the world that defines us.
Therefore, the highest praise is created in our hearts for You,
Your people sum it up in four syllables, Hal-le-lu-yah!
Prayer: Amazing grace towards a people that are so unworthy. Often, we allow the world to get the best of us. Forgive us Lord! We will continue to seek Your face. There’s no option worthier than You, Father. Keep us, Lord! We thank You for Your patience, mercy, and love. In the matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
