SUNDAY MORNING PRAYERS with Pastor Wayne Cockrell
SCRIPTURE: “Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, 6 that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 15:5-6
Father, as we prepare to open Your Word, as a people we declare with certainty from our own experience, that the entrance of it does give us light. We believe that this is the infallible Word. You have spoken to us for all time contained in these 66 books is the very Word You speak and the very Words You have caused us to know that we might know Your mind. So as a people we open Your Word with great anticipation, and we expect that You would speak to the depths of our heart as You have been faithful to do in many times past. So bless us now with understanding. We ask that You would now show favor upon this servant that I may speak these things in accordance to what this Word says so that the people in this place will leave having remembered ‘Thus sayeth You.’ We’ll give You praise, once again, for whatever is accomplished for we ask it in Jesus’ name, Amen and Amen!

Most gracious God and Grantor, LORD, help us to rightly lean,
nAnd finding thereof patiently Thy comfort to prayerfully glean,
nTo meet all storms without and within, beneath Thy blessing hand,
nTo be equipped through thick and thin, awakening, yea, to 'stand'.
nMay we come to treasure through appetites changed the precious of all Thy ways,
nEmbracing the frontiers brought by love now, and all of the coming days.
nLet be unrestrained all of our confidence for that which You've made so clear,
nAs we taste of it and take of it, Your faithfulness brought to ear.
