Light Up the World with Wisdom and Spiritual Understanding

Let’s be clear, every Christian grounded in the Word of God wants his fellow believers to have an intimate awareness of our Savior and grow with a deeper understanding of Him. Saints, we were saved to grow and this week our Devotional team addresses the topic of “Wisdom and Spiritual Understanding from God” taken from a beloved portion of scripture in Colossians 1. Once again, learn these verses and keep them in your pocket, because when you pray the Holy Spirit will bring this verse back to your remembrance, whatsoever He has said unto you.

Walk in the light. Beautiful light. Come where the dewdrops of mercy shine bright. Shine all around us by day and by night. Jesus is the light of the world. This is such a simple song with a simple message – walk in the light, the light is beautiful, and the light is where mercy shines bright. Easy, right? Easy with the Lord’s help. In order to walk in the light, we must be the light. In order to be the light, we must understand the Lord’s will for our lives. In order to understand the Lord’s will for our lives we must take the time to know the Lord. As children, we know what our parents expected of us. The same is true for the Lord. In order to walk worthy, to please the Lord we must spend time with the Lord, take the time to get to know the Lord, and knowing Him will reveal to us His will for us. This revelation allows us to walk worthy, please Him, and bear good fruit. In order to light up the world, we must remember who we are and to whom we belong. When we have this understanding, we gain spiritual wisdom and spiritual wisdom allows us the walk worthy.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for giving us spiritual wisdom. Thank You for taking the time to teach us and lead us. Lord, pleasing You is what our goals should be. Thank You, for Your word that guides, encourages, teaches, and disciplines us; without it we don’t shine, without the relationship we don’t represent You well, we don’t walk worthy. Thank You for the greatest example, Jesus the Christ. Amen
