Lookin’ Like Our Daddy
This week’s Devotionals will focus on “The Holy Spirit’s Control!” The battle is on! Two formidable opponents, the Spirit vs the flesh, vying for dominance and who will win? Join us this week and let’s purpose to commit this scripture to memory and let’s hear what the Lord has given our Devotional writers to encourage us in our walk!
SCRIPTURE: "And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit," Ephesians 5:18
SCRIPTURE: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." Galatians 5:22-23, 25

The Holy Spirit – the Third Person of the Godhead. Awesome in Wonder and Superfluous in
power, yet only experienced and demonstrated as we yield - “walk in the Spirit”. Yes, “we have
this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.” (II Cor.5:7). Therefore, when we walk in the Spirit (being filled and controlled), we shall not
fulfill the lust of the flesh.” (Gal.5:16) Whew!! Fighting every day – flesh against the Spirit and
Spirit against the flesh!!
Seeing that we should redeem the time in growing in our faith walk because the days are evil,
let us remember that we will give an account at the judgment seat of Christ so may we continue to fight spiritually each day the flesh vs. Spirit. As we choose to yield to the power of the Holy Spirit, He begins to produce more of His likeness – love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Oh, to look like our DADDY – our ABBA – our GOD!!!
Prayer: Oh Lord You are always willing, but it’s “me” Lord continually needing Your loving
brokenness to become a vessel fit for the Master’s use. Whatever it takes LORD for me to know You to make You known, may Your love hold back nothing for me to become “broken bread and poured out wine for Your GLORY!!!
