MAINTAINING THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT IN THE BOND OF PEACE: To bring glory and pleasure to our Lord and King
SCRIPTURE: "I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." Ephesians 4:1-3

I believe it was the summer in 2018, I was a member of a community choir, and we were invited to a Sunday afternoon service at a church celebrating their new minister of music. It was a large church and it had to be, to hold the amount of choirs that were represented. There was an atmosphere of Praise! It was nice to see familiar faces that I had not seen in years. In thinking about the old days, I thought about the good times, and I had a recollection of some strife amongst the choirs. Well, the summer of 2018, I was amidst some known and beloved choirs. We came together and witnessed what some may call a wondrous act, yes, a miracle.
In between each individual choir rendering their own selections, the Minister of Music did something different. He stood before us along with the church’s band and directed the entire congregation in some old favorite gospel choir selections. To name one was, “It’s Gonna Rain”. As he directed with great fervor, we could not help but to fill the air with an explosion of melodies. It was an incredible time! We sang as one choir for our Living King! It made me think of when we get to heaven; ‘no big I’s or little u’s’; but together we will forever lift up the Name of Our God, Our Redeemer, Our Strong Deliverer!
I am sure that the new Minister of Music thought taking on this task of maintaining the unity of the Spirit with the bond of Peace with so many choirs would be a great challenge. And such is life, we need to ask the Lord for creativity and rejuvenation. We need the Lord to give us direction and allow us to think outside the box of our personalities and circumstances. We need the Lord to conform us to Himself; that we might promote harmony in our fellowships and conversations all to bring glory and pleasure to our Lord and King.
We as the saints of the Most High should ever have before us our testimony. We have obtained faith by accepting the righteousness of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. Our faith is said to be precious (II Corinthians 4:18); Jesus is our portion forever (Ps. 73:26); without Him we are nothing (Rom. 7:18)-Hallelujah! That is why wherever we are in life; in a trial; just out of trial, we are to point the world and each other to what pleases Jesus. For He is our Purpose and Victory! We have been given the responsibility to intentionally demonstrate, express our Banner, The Lord Jesus, in peace, love, and grace. Always remembering our great privilege to publicly give our God the honor He not only expects but deserves.
Prayer: Thank You for our faith in Jesus and how we know He lives, and He lives in us. We thank You that we had to first have a personal encounter with You. You forever show us Your Heart of Love and Grace for us. In Your Body, You are faithful to provide us with encouragement to
continue in our precious faith...and with this like precious faith in You, we have a position of
righteousness...and we say Thank You. We can together call You, Abba Father. May You help
us maintain the Unity of the Spirit in the bond of Peace. We want to bring You pleasure, Lord,
in all You have assigned our hands to do. In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
