Troubles I Have Faced, But God… Will Always Be My Refuge
June has featured Devotionals written by our GBFC Youth. Here is what God is doing in the lives of our youth. Be encouraged by the Word of God and their devotional that they are sharing today!

SCRIPTURE: "You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance." Psalm 32:7
Throughout my first year of college, I, like many other people, had a number of challenges that caused me to deal with stress, discouragement, and dedication. The weight of expectations, both from my school work and social tasks, put tons of pressure on me. I found myself setting myself up for failure, lowering my own confidence, and feeling overwhelmed by the scale of the expectations ahead of me from the world. It was easy for me to believe that I could tackle these problems on my own. However, I found out that I couldn’t. Every time I found myself in these situations, I remembered the scripture above. Psalm 32:7, reminds me that no matter what challenges I face, God will always be my sanctuary and refuge, especially when coping with everything the world throws at me. Operating this way, my life would become simpler, with the company of the Lord.
PRAYER: Dear God, I pray today for myself and everyone else in the world who may be lost and looking for that person to rely on, that refuge that we seek. I pray that You continue to work on all of us who suffer from these worldly expectations and keep our minds and hearts focused on Your expectations of us. Lastly I pray that you continue to work Your blessings in us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
