TROUBLES I HAVE FACED, BUT GOD…From Troubles to Deliverance
June has featured Devotionals written by our GBFC Youth. Here is what God is doing in the lives of our youth. Be encouraged by the Word of God and their devotional that they are sharing today!

SCRIPTURE: “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. 18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” Psalm 34:17-19 (ESV)
Whether it’s financial problems, spiritual battles, family issues, or school-related problems, we all go through troubles and tough times. Although it’s easy to be consumed by our troubles and lose focus on God, we forget that God is and will always be with us (Hebrews 13:5). Some of us may try to solve our problems our way or by other methods. But the Word tells us to cry out to God for help. If God is our refuge, why not abide in Him and relay all your burdens?
My previous semester at UMBC (University of Maryland Baltimore County) was my toughest yet. I spent so much time thinking about school and juggling all my classes, I became overwhelmed and burned out. I tried my methods of solving my stress through music, games and going outside but it wasn’t enough. It felt like I was drowning in my sorrows and that no one would understand my problems. Though I neglected spending time in prayer with God and going to him for all my problems, God delivered me from the toxic mindset that I adopted. God showed me my faults and reminded me that he is always with me.
Remember to call on the Lord for help regardless of what you are going through. Go to him in prayer and lean not on your understanding, but on his alone. Remember to lean on His strength, knowing He is near the brokenhearted. Surrender your burdens to Him in prayer, seek His guidance, and rely on the support of fellow believers. As you do so, you will find comfort, peace, and renewed strength in God’s unfailing love.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for being with me during my troubles. Help me trust in You completely, knowing You hear my cries and will deliver me. I surrender my burdens to You and ask for Your strength to sustain me. Grant me the faith to persevere and the wisdom to discern Your guidance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Amen! Thx for the reminder 🙌ðŸ½
Amen. May we find, even when under pressure , that God's faithfulness, then and beyond then, is sufficient.
Bro. Valarous, I am encouraged. Thank you for your devotional. Yes, I am so glad I can call on the Lord. Reminds me of that song, "One Prayer Away-God is Only One Prayers Away."
Yes our God is ever present when we run after Him!!! Blessings upon you Valarous as you continue to know HIM to make HIM known.
Amen.
There is no substitute for the Lord's comfort, love, protection or grace! I thank God you were able to see the light in the mist of your darkness! PRAISE GOD! Continue to lean on His understanding and not your own! YASSSSS! AMEN!💚
