Scripture: "For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O Lord, You know it altogether." Psalm 139:4
God knows everything about us and still remains faithful to His commitment to love us. The great evidence of this truth is that God not only knows all that I have done, but He knew it before we chose to do it. His knowledge of us is not limited to the present moment in which we live, but He knows us now in the bright light of what we are to become and what we will choose today, tomorrow and the rest of our lives. It is this revelation that should bring us to the marvel of praise and thanksgiving for the certainty we have come to believe in Him.
How often do we stop and fully concentrate and appreciate the reality that our God not only knows all about us (His omniscience); is always with us (His omnipresence); has invested Himself in our creative design (His omnipotence), and does not change in character toward us (His immutability). It is this meditation by the Psalmist that leads Him, as well as us, into this deep awareness of God that should govern our daily lives. Upon opening our eyes to a new day and a new year, let us thank Him for still being with us after having searched and known us. Let our marvel of who He is to us be as great as the focus of seeking Him for what He can do for us.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You today for who You are to me, and what You have shown me about Your eternal investment and commitment to my life. Help me to understand You better and know Your ways so that they may stabilize and fill my heart with thoughts of You, in our Lord Jesus Name, Amen.
