My Thoughts Need to be Fixed

I need to consider what I am thinking about;
What’s going on in my mind may come out.

Settling with my understanding will lead to destruction;
Knowingly, my thoughts are misleading and can’t be trusted.

This mind of mine must be monitored second by second;
Every thought must be taken captive, or blessings are threatened.

Compared to the Lord, my best thoughts are like filthy rags;
Without prayer, my mind will hide the warnings and red flags.

Over the years I’ve allowed so many unclean thoughts to take residence;
Although I’m saved, thoughts are collected and prepared to take precedence.

Lord, flush out these thoughts that are not pleasing to You;
Replace them with Your righteousness and biblical truth.

I’m calling on you, Lord, to uncover the things that will last;
I’m acknowledging You as my first thought; please direct my path.

I understand my thoughts are not reliable;
It’s only You Lord that can make my thoughts viable.

Therefore, I will fix my thoughts on the Lord;
Knowingly, the Lord will fix my thoughts that are flawed.

Prayer: I rather You Lord determine what’s righteous. When thoughts rise in my mind, give me clarity on what to keep and what to remove. No longer do I desire to confirm what’s good or not. Forgive me for mismanaging thoughts. Forgive me for allowing thoughts to linger. I lift these prayers in the name of Jesus.
