IN GOD I TRUST

Scripture: Psalm 20:7 NKJ  Some trust in chariots and some trust in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
Many of our days are met with chaotic confusion, no matter how we try to prioritize activities. There are ways that seem right in dealing successfully with difficult times in our lives; however, the result does not lead to a fruitful end.

A few days ago I was faced with a new task. Hours leading up to performing this new task were filled with distraction after distraction. I so desperately wanted to settle down and familiarize myself with focal points of this new task. There are points of interest that I wanted to focus on to help me to prepare to do my best. About the twelfth hour I foresaw my prep time slowly drifting away.

King David took pride in the name of the Lord our God, regardless of his circumstances (Ps. 20:7). David acknowledges that if he is to have victory, it would have to come from the Lord--the God of circumstances. Therefore, King David trusted in the Lord’s character, reputation, and sovereignty. The more he focused on God, the greater his confidence in God became.

We should consider following David’s example as we navigate circumstances of life. Our God is capable of bringing peace to life’s chaos (Prov. 3:5, 6). He will give you your heart’s desires (Ps. 37:5; 38:9, 10). King David looked to God for help because there was no one else to whom he could turn. He clearly recognizes that he is helpless to help himself (Ps. 38:13 – 18).

Prayer:  Lord, throughout Your Scripture, You have given individuals as examples for our good. You gave Your only begotten Son that we might believe and Him follow. In His name. Amen
