Moment to Moment

We can’t afford to take a moment off
Spiritual warfare must be spiritually resolved;

If I refuse to seek the Lord or cease my prayers
I will be devoured by Satan, circumstances, or naysayers;

My walk-in life is beyond what my eyes see
Circumstances have no final say, nor define me;

Therefore, prayers should be proactive rather than reactive
Intercession and intervention are better before than after;

Yet, even during prayer, Satan seeks to attack
All he needs is a moment to make an impact;

Avoiding the influences that cater to what I feel
Replacing emotional ideas with fervent appeals;

If there’s no zeal for the Lord, it really doesn’t matter
Only saints that seek the Lord are ensnared with havoc;

Therefore, when I take a break, my adversary sees and knows it
It’s the Holy Spirit that helps and teaches, moment to moment.

Prayer:  Clearly, I can’t do this alone. Clearly, it’s a full-time dependency on You. Lord, I need You! Consume me with Your ways. Cleanse me of the things that attempt to pull me away from You. Every step I take, take them with me, Lord. Thank You for the Holy Spirit that helps and teaches me. I lift these prayers in the name of Jesus. Amen!
