Faith Walk

Scripture:  II Corinthians 5:7 – We walk by faith, and not by sight.

I remember when I invited Jesus Christ into my life in August of 1978.  I knew life was more than just what I had been experiencing.  There was a void in my life, but I didn’t know how that void could be filled.  I tried to fill the void with many worldly things.  When I finally invited Jesus Christ into my life, the void was filled. I finally had peace with God through  Jesus Christ!  Romans 5:1 says “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”  “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:7).  Ephesians 2:8-10 says “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

As we begin to read God’s word and pray to Him and trust/have faith in the Lord in our daily walk, challenges arise.  It seems like the more we choose to grow in the things of the Lord, and obey the Lord, trials that we experience are more challenging.  We must learn to  have faith in the character and promises of God.  Whatever God promises us -- based on the word of God, will surely come to pass.

An acronym for faith is forsaking all, I trust Him.  Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  It is imperative that we have confidence that God is working out things on our behalf.  Therefore, instead of worrying, we choose to rest in Him.  The enemy is always trying to frustrate our walk with the Lord.  John 10:10 says “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Regarding our faith walk, remember:

•I Corinthians 4:2 – “Moreover, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”

•Faithfulness is the summary of Christian living.  Luke 16:10 says “He tht is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.”

•I Peter 1:7 – “That the trial of your faith , being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be  tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.”

•Galatians 5:22-23 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

•Those who have faith in Christ can overcome worldly sins/temptations.  I John 5:4 – This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”  Victory for Christians is through faith in Jesus Christ, who has already defeated the powers of darkness!

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father:  I’m so grateful that my sins have been forgiven by believing in and/or having faith in Jesus Christ.  Having a personal relationship with the Lord means everything to me.  As I am in this faith walk, help me Lord to make right choices based not by sight but by faith in your character, promises, and the Word of God.  I know whatever You promise in Your Word, you will fulfill.  All this I pray in Jesus’ name.  Amen.
