Love Covers Me from Head to Toe
Scripture: 1 Peter 4:7-11 - But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. 8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the [c]oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the [d]dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Love covers a multitude of sins
A true testament of where relationship, begins and ends
The Lord modeled this action for us to become unconditional lovers
A dual exchange of grace and mercy that’s shown to each other
Slow to accuse by providing a judgment of charity
Assuming the best of one another to create a spiritual narrative
There is an understanding that we all are sinners
Approaching each other as under-accusers and nonstop forgivers
Although my past involves pain and multiple offenses
True love produces righteous and blameless intentions
Identifying and removing any signs of hatred
Destroying potential conflicts to advance what’s sacred
Sure, it’s going to cost something
So, I look beyond feelings to obtain the Lord’s covering
I refuse to sweep issues under the rug and hide with discretion
I will deal with matters immediately, so my love won’t be questioned
I rather protect my brother or sister from their sins and errors
Leading them away from destruction and a path of terror
Knowingly, love does not delight in evil, but rejoice in the truth
Keeping no record of wrong, despite offenses may be proven
Love protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres
It provides mercy by not giving me what I deserve
Ultimately, the goal is to reflect the love of Christ
As a result, others will see true love through one of the Lord’s disciples
Prayer: So much sin is before us, Lord. But, You make it crystal clear in Your Word of what the remedy is for our sin. Love! I have plenty of sin to address, but I'm grateful to know that love is the answer. So, I do have the opportunity to either mend a relationship or for someone to repair relationship with me. Lord, continue to remind me how You have exercised this love with me. Help me to love and apply a one another mindset with others. Forgive me for not being obedient in this area. Thank You for enabling me to newly establish and recover relationships in my sinful matters through love. I’m encouraged through Your love Father. I praise You in the name of Jesus. Amen!
