Defending Me from the Enemy

Scripture:  John 10:10 -  The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

How do I get victory over the enemy?
Despite salvation, evil offers no sympathy

I am unprepared to do the work of the Lord
Failing to call on Him sooner for spiritual support

Spiritual warfare remains in front of me
Often, my methods are used, rather than the Lord’s covering

Considering past failures, rather than praying forward
Underestimating the enemy through obvious signs and warnings

I surrender with a white flag from fighting alone
No weapon formed against me shall prosper,
once meeting Him at the throne

His power gives me the confidence to make the right choice
Countering my enemies with His Word and the Holy Spirit’s voice

He knows what I can bear when I face troubles and problems
Where I am weak and insufficient, the Lord is much stronger

Therefore, His armor equips me to survive trials and tragedies
The Lord defends me from my enemies in any warlike capacities

Prayer:  Lord, surround me with people, places, and things that represent You. Help me to make better choices. You are wonderful in Your ways. Teach me! Strengthen me to turn away from sin and trouble. Convict me! Show me what is not of You. I send this petition in the name of Jesus, Amen!
