I Can Do Nothing
Scripture: John 15:5 - I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
I desire to live a God-honoring and fruitful life
My aim must remain, stay connected to Christ
I understand the give and take of my faith
I abide in Him, He abides in me is the way
Daily, aligning myself as the branch to the Vine
Exchanging my will for what’s righteous and divine
This alignment ensures a connection to the Source
Now His wisdom and discernment can be enforced
So, when idols are occupying the Lord’s position
I’m reminded, apart from Christ, I can do nothing
So, when my eyes are fixed on things of the world
I’m reminded, apart from Christ, I can do nothing
When my status supersedes the kingdom agenda
I’m reminded, apart from Christ, I can do nothing
When success and pleasure supersede ministry
I’m reminded, apart from Christ, I can do nothing
Even noble and good works that appear becoming
I’m reminded, apart from Christ, I can do nothing
Prayer: Lord, forgive me! I continue trying to do this walk on my own. I use my limited abilities and worldly resources to accomplish goals. I even use you, rather than rely on you to become success. I have big plans, yet they are outside of You. Father, have mercy on me. I am the branch, and You are the vine. Redirect me and lead the way. I rather You endorse my efforts than me accomplishing the greatest success without You. I pray this prayer in the matchless name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
