Aligning My Prayers with His Promises and Plans

Scripture: 2 Samuel 7:25 - Now, O Lord God, the word which You have spoken concerning Your servant and concerning his house, establish it forever and do as You have said.
 
Because I can come to Him, I know I’m LOVED
What I’m about to ask for, I’m not worthy OF
 
Before creating a plan, prayer must be the first RESORT
Petitions based on God’s promises for divine RESULTS
 
Prayer directs me to true HUMILITY
It teaches patience, confidence, and DEPENDENCY
 
Prayer brings awareness to God’s deity and PRESENCE
It questions my level of faith when challenged with LESSONS
 
There is a way which seems right to me that is PLEASING
But, prayer is what I know, what I recall, and what I believe IN
 
Prayer trains my heart to discern with wisdom on a spiritual LEVEL
An expectation to accomplish, what I can’t do alone or by my SELF
 
I’m reminded that prayer requires, what only God can supply to US
Nobody can do for me, what He can do, through faith and TRUST
 
Therefore, my prayers ordain, restrain, and sustain US
It carries the purpose to build, encourage, and change US

Prayer:  Lord, I am sold on Your plan and promises. Forgive me for falling off frequently. Clearly, despite me, Your purpose is not disrupted. The only way I can have an effective prayer life is to know You personally and to seek You diligently. So, I must cling to Your promises. I already have what I need. My prayer is to stay on Your righteous track, and I will be careful to give You all the praise and glory. In Jesus name! Amen!
