Wait in Faith

Scripture: Psalm 37:7 NKL -  Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.

One of the most profitable lessons as a believer is to “WAIT.” Waiting can undoubtedly prove to be most difficult, mainly when one relies on his knowledge, understanding, and strength. It is a must when walking with the Lord and is not to be taken lightly.  Waiting on God’s timing is a way of life in the course of our Christian journey. Along the way, we are sure to experience silence, while God can’t be hurried. Take heart, don’t throw in the towel just yet, during those seemingly quiet times.  Don’t give up hope too soon by placing time limits on God. Continue to trust Him with the results. God always comes through (Jer. 29:11). He teaches and strengthens us while we are waiting.  He refines our character according to Isaiah 40:31 –“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, …they shall run, and not be weary, and walk and not faint.” “Waiting in faith makes a believer stronger, not weaker.” 1(Pete Wilson, Spiritual Benefits of Waiting 11/15)

Waiting can bring about a time of stress because of doubt, unanswered prayers, jealousy that others get their desires met readily;  it seems, failures on this faith walk or believing God does not remember me anymore. God’s timing is not our timing-matter of fact; time is in His hand. He is sovereign. God, having put us to waiting, is always for our benefit and His mercy. Put doubt away-keep trusting his hand and wait. He will respond in due season and lift you and grant you beyond all that you can imagine or expect- exceeding ones’ heart desire.

“Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him (Ps. 37:7),” in every situation.  We’ve heard – God causes all situations/circumstances of your life to work together for your good and His glory.  We must see our circumstances from God’s perspective. You may not have all the (t)’s crossed, nor the (I)’s dotted, but you will have confidence that the Savior who redeemed you will not destroy all that He has invested in you.

God is doing mighty work in your life, and He will continue to do so,  just trust Him. “Keep doing the right thing, taking the next step you know to take” –2(Wilson,11/14) because God’s plan is yet to be completed. Today, my husband and I celebrate our 49th anniversary. My confidence, then, of past relationships did not derail my Christian walk. I prayed for the Lord to direct my path. Proverb 3:5,6 would become my life verses. I could not see His hand; Yet, knowing and experiencing Him in my life causes me to trust Him more and more. Wait on the Lord saints.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for Your ministry in the spirituality of faithful waiting that teaches strengthens, and builds character. I desire to follow Jesus as my example in waiting in faith with confidence. In His name, Amen.
