Too Stressed to Rest
Scripture: Psalm 118:5–6 I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place. 6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
Me: Lord, my burdens are too heavy to bare
Me: My circumstances are causing a scare
Me: I have made petitions in my prayers
Me: As trouble persists, I’m simply unprepared
The Lord: The storms I’ve allowed disrupt your norms
The Lord: Look beyond your trials, to see what I am forming
The Lord: The storms reveal whether you are aligned with me
The Lord: I’m the beginning and ending, so I’m aware of what’s need
Me: Lord, I understand, but it’s been a long while
Me: The issues in front of me has taken my smile
Me: Tell me what you want me to see or do?
Me: What am I missing, that’s written in your truth?
The Lord: From my eyes, there is a lot that’s missing
The Lord: Would we be conversating, if you weren’t in crisis?
The Lord: Are you trusting me through faith when you pray?
The Lord: Are you giving up, despite my perfect resume?
But. . . (The Lord) but what, doubt and worry has taken over, honestly
The Lord: Well, steadfast my servant and embrace my promises
The Lord: Remember, all things are possible to those who believe
The Lord: Also, I know what you can bare, and I surely will never leave
Me: But I have already made so many petitions
The Lord: Now, be patient and allow me to lead you to an ordained position
Me: Amen, my Lord, I will look beyond my circumstances
The Lord: Be encouraged my child and focus on my kingdom’s advancement
Prayer: Lord, stress is something I often create or allow to exist. Living daily not abiding in You. Forgive me Lord! Often my eyes are fixed on what I see physically, rather than You. Forgive me Lord! Consume me with Your presence dear Lord. Redirect my focus on You. I come to You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen!
