God’s Most Amazing Masterpiece Among His Creation
Scripture: Psalms 8: 3,4 (NKJ) - When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon, and the stars, You have ordained, 4What is man that You are mindful of him, …
God and God alone created heaven and earth and all that dwells therein. The moon, sun, stars, mountains, valleys, fertile plains, lowlands, and extreme drylands. Around the world, man finds pleasure in visiting the exciting waterfall, caves, and sandy beaches. There is no end to the magnificent life found roaming the ground, soaring in the air, and those who make their home in the seas. The Almighty God created them all to include the most amazing masterpiece - humans (Gen. 1:26).
Man has been labeled dust (Gen. 2:7), sinful (Gen. 16:12, Mk. 7:21), a worm (Ps. 22:6), mortal, frail (Ps. 103:15,90), wretched (Rom 7:24). Miserable (I Cor. 15:19), fallen, full of infirmities (Prov. 18:14) and as having a short life (vapor) (Job 19:1), (Ps. 90:10), (Mk. 11:11). Yet, God has high admiration and love for humans. God graciously loves and cares for man like none other of His creations. His thoughts are continually upon man showing His great mercy and love toward man (Isiah 54:7,10).
(Psalms 8:3,4) In the scope of things, David realizes that the solar systems’ vastness shows how small humanity is. He poses a question. “What is a man, that God would remember him? “ The intent for the man before the fall was to prepare a perfect garden, place man in it to enjoy and have everything he needed. The Almighty God formed man of the dust of the ground, breathed into his nostrils the breath of life: and man became a living human being (Gen. 2:7). God made man in His likeness (Gen.1:26). God would not forget His own (Gen. 8:1), nor would He forget the task of tending the garden given to the man Adam (Gen. 2:15). God performed surgery on the man, anesthetizing him for the intervention (Gen.2:21). God took Man’s rib and used it to make woman - Adam’s helpmate (Gen. 2:22). God brought the woman to Adam (Gen. 2:22c). Yet, this man Adam sinned against God and brought death to all mankind.
The Lord invested much regarding man. Why would He not remember him? God forgave man’s sins by sacrificing His Son on the cross once for all time.
Prayer: Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth. Your great mercy and love are incredible, and I am glad about it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
