Same God

Scripture:  Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV) - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.

This is not the first storm you’ve been through
You’ve been through worse
You didn’t come this far just to lose (He knows)
He knows your needs
So take no thoughts on what you lost (God will)
God will restore, and this is how I’m sure
If He did it before He can do it again
Same God right now, same God back then ...

If we’re really honest with ourselves, we change like the wind. It blows to the left, and we go left.  It blows to the right, we go right. Aren’t you glad God is not like us? He is/was/always will be the same God He has always been. We definitely need Him to keep us stable because on our best days, we still fall short of His glory. (Romans 3:23)

Microsoft Bing Dictionary defines same as identical, not different. That means never-changing. It’s such a comfort to know that we serve a God like that! I can’t imagine living life without His stability. It’s all because of Him that we are still here! And even when things don’t go according to our plan, He’s right there to forgive us, restore us, pick us up, dust us off, and get us back on track to journey on.

How many times has God shown us Who He is? And yet we still flip out when something happens! He has equipped us for every storm, test or trial that He allows in our lives. What a thought! Our awesome God orchestrates things in our lives to build His character in us and cause us to become all He designed us to be! And in those not-so-fun times when He breaks our hearts or crushes us, just know that He is still the same loving Father that delights in us every day. And even when it feels like He is breaking us, He is really building us – He is the Potter, we are His clay!

So as we continue on this Christian journey, may we always remember that our Heavenly Father is FOR us and not against us! He sees, He knows, He understands, He cares and in His time, He WILL deliver! Hold fast to His unchanging hand! Stay before His presence, see Him in everything and trust Him in all things … because He’s the SAME GOD RIGHT NOW, SAME GOD BACK THEN!!

Prayer: Father, thank You for never changing! Even when I drift from You, when I lean on my own understanding, when I try to figure things out on my own, You show me Who’s really in control! Thank You God that You save me from myself!! You never let me get to far from You, You never let me go! You continue to pursue me even when I sin and wanna run away from You! God, You are SUCH an Awesome Wonder! No other God compares to You! Perfect in ALL Your ways, everyday, Faithful, Ever True!!! We surrender our will to Yours! Have Your way as only You can. Thank You for being patient with me and for loving me through all You allow in my life! I am ever so grateful and humbled to be loved by You! In Jesus’ Name I always pray … AMEN!!
