God’s Word at Work in Our Lives
Scripture: II Timothy 3:16 NKJ - All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
During man's lifetime, he involves himself with books/resources without limits. With each new endeavor, a man required volumes of books to get himself to an accomplished position. The Holy Bible is such a unique book when compared to any other book in this world. Everything man would need to know, navigate situations/circumstances within a lifetime is bound up in one volume, the Holy Bible. The content of the Bible flowed from the mind of God (II Peter 1:19-20). This is where the Lord God reveals things therein, He wants us to know about His will, his way, His Son, and always through His comprehensive Scripture.
Everyone (male, female, youth, boy and, girl) needs the Word's guidance. We all face temptations and make multiple decisions throughout our lifetime. No one ever outgrows the need for God's Word. Apostle Paul's message to us is that we ought to receive the Word (truth) of God not as the Word of men, but as God's truth which works effectively in believers ( I Thess. 2:13).
The Scripture works:
To lead one to salvation. We are led to salvation by trusting in the Christ revealed in the Bible. The Word tells of one's need for salvation. The Word is a mirror that shows man how wretched he is in the sight of God. Every sinner is condemned because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3:18-21). Man needs a Savior. The Word also makes it clear that a lost sinner cannot save himself.
To reveal to man that the Bible is true and dependable. All Scripture was by inspiration of God (II Tim. 3:16a). The God that I have come to love, and trust, would not leave a book that man could not trust. He is a God of truth and without injustice (Deut.32:4); Jesus said of Himself; "I am the way truth and life" (John 14:6) and "the Spirit is truth" (I John 5:6), Jesus Himself also said "Your Word is truth" (John 17:17).
To assure us that Gods' guidance is in His unchanging Word and the Holy Spirit of truth (John 16:13).
To show that the Word of God is profitable (useable/ beneficial) for doctrine (what is right); reproof (what is not right); correction (how to get it right), instruction in righteousness (how to stay straight) (II Tim. 3:16).
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your infallible magnificent holy Word. For You are at work through it to teach, instruct, guide in righteousness, reprove and correct me and thoroughly furnish me with everything I need to do good work. In Your Name, Jesus. Amen.
