A Peaceful Stand
Scripture: Peter 5:5-11 - Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.8 Be [c]sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Tests can be spiritual barriers
Each designed to reveal and build character
A peaceful stand requires the Lord’s faithful hands
Allowing me to discern through challenging demands
This peaceful stand doesn’t necessarily change the conditions
But, it alters my response for a godlier position
Stabilizing reactions to avoid emotional eruptions
A peaceful stand, rejects what might be disruptive
His peace advocates for my freedom
Wickedness withdraws, subduing foes and demons
As Satan plots to hinder my godly pursuit
I respond with the Lord’s peace to settle my disputes
Surrendering my way for godlier solutions
His peace provokes goodness by persuading resolutions
Regulating daily drama with an appeasing spirit
Challenges arise, a peaceful stand takes care of it
Prayer: Lord, test are before me. My natural response to these matters doesn’t line up with Your commands. Lord, teach me how to take a peaceful stand. You told me to cast my cares. I know these matters will be taking care of righteously in Your hands. Cover me Father as I take this stand. In Jesus name, Amen!
