Die, Yet Live

Scripture:  I Corinthians 15:31 – I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

Galatians 2:20 – I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

God in His Word speaks to us, and He so desires that what He has said would impact us so much that we change.  Yes, we begin to look more like Jesus; yes, more like His Precious Son.  And this process continues, despite the fiery darts the world and the enemy send our way.   The redemption work has been completed; Christ has fulfilled the Holy demands of God on our behalf; He has done the finished work one time for all time.  We celebrate this; God is progressively becoming greater and more powerful to us; so much so, that our walk, our talk our very existence, as His forgiven, transformed children are interrupted less and less.  In the verses above, He exhorts us to die daily to self; our death, our crucifixion with Christ should be seen by all (to some Christ’s crucifixion has not been realized).  That victory is to prevail loudly for the world to see!  This is how we proclaim the NAME OF CHRIST and all of His Power and  Majesty.  When we, by prayer, total submission and total awareness of who we are in Him, walk away from what would destroy our “Jesus” testimony.  We are transformed from what likens us to this world and the devil, to a new life of Magnifying and Glorifying the Lord and His great and Awesome Work!  Oh, the reinforcement to our great salvation & testimony is to die daily (naturally there is nothing in us that’s good or notable) and to pray always (dependence on Jesus is a must in this life).

Prayer:  Lord, we thank You for Your Word and Your Redemption for it gives us rest, and wisdom.  Instructions from You give us safety and hope.  Help us to have a running desire to look more like Jesus daily.  Grateful for Your mercy, grace & love…In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
