Bathed by My Savior

Scripture: Titus 3:5-6 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior

The Lord has given me a righteous bath
I am blessed beyond what I could ever think or ask

Initially, I was blinded from the unrighteousness that covered my soul
Not until I accepted and pursued the Lord, my filth was exposed

I began bathing and cleansing myself of sinful things
Yet, every time I washed, the tub revealed the same dirty ring

I required a suitable cleansing that’s pure, holy, and clean
A spiritual bathing that’s inward, outward, and in between

Nothing I’ve done or can do qualifies me for a cleansing that’s worthy
The Lord Jesus Christ provides a purging overtime that involves mercy

I needed a Savior to conduct this washing as His testimonial exhibit
A before and after regeneration freshly renewed by the Holy Spirit

Lord, wash me from the things that create potential harm
Lord, wash me from the evil one’s tricks, deceit, and charm

Now, I can come to His throne with sin, disappointments, and failures
Once I repent, I am qualified for a cleansing through my Lord and Savior

Prayer:  Father, only You can wash me clean. Forgive me for my iniquities. Thank You for the Holy Spirit that renews. I come to You in the name of Your Son. Amen!
