The Sword of the Spirit

Scripture:  Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

The Lord knew I would need a partner for spiritual warfare
He provided the Holy Spirit for conditions that would be unfair

He gave me a sword also known as the Holy Bible
It encompasses His wisdom and discernment for His disciples

So, I’ve already taken heed from the Lord’s commands and directions
Taking up the sword of the spirit for supernatural protection

It’s important to take an offensive position for enemy attacks
Making the first move with my sword out, ready, and unstrapped

Although, I may feel unfit and outmanned for spiritual combat
My partner, the Holy Spirit, covers where I’m weak and what I lack

So, I am believing, knowing, obeying, and speaking His Word
Skillfully relying on the content for warnings, prompts, and alerts

His Word accompanied with the Holy Spirit is a divine arrangement
A joint provision that provides energy, enlightenment, and enablement

Clearly, evil and the evil one doesn’t mine us having the sword
As long as we keep it on the table, unused, tucked away, and stored

My assigned demons are willing to wait before seeking to devour
Yet, the Holy Spirit prompts us to speak His Word at the right hour

HEARING IT, fronts us with the Truth that’s brought
READING IT, fills the mind with the right kind of thoughts

MEDITATING ON IT, flushes these impressionable minds of ours
STUDYING IT, frees us from bondage from unsolicited thoughts of ours

Lastly, the sword of the spirit empowers what the Lord wants me to do
So, MEMORIZING IT, fortifies the mind with strongholds of truth

Prayer:  Thank You Lord for preparing me in spiritual warfare. You’ve given me the ultimate spiritual tool to offend and defend myself. The enemy is busy, so I must rely on the Sword You’ve given me. Continue to warn me through the spirit. Continue to reveal where I need to strike my enemies. I need You Lord. I’m asking for these provisions in the matchless name of the Jesus Christ. Amen!

Amen! Lord thank you for admonishing me when I unintentionally grieve, or quench the Holy Spirit. Thank you Father for covering me with the Holy Spirit when I'm otherwise defenseless. Thank you Lord for your Sovereignty that I can assuredly rest upon. In Jesus name I'm protected.
