The Wisest Time Spent on Earth

Scriptures: Ephesians 5:15-16 CSB - “Pay careful attention, then to how you live – not as unwise people but as wise – making the most of the time, because the days are evil.”

Time that we have been given is a gift from God, and no one living knows how much time each one of us is allotted. God is the only one who knows how much time each of His created being has on the earth. It is His desire that we make the most of the time we are given (Ephesians 5:16). To do that effectively is to walk in a planned life. For God has a plan for our lives (Eph. 5:17); (Eph. 2:10) and it is revealed through His Word ( Col. 1:9-10). No doubt, a Christian can walk carefully, and accurately because he knows what God desires. Therefore, the walk resembles God’s blueprint for life.

The Holy Bible tells us to use  our time wisely and with great care . “See that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” In Your walk (new life) imitate God and not the evil things on earth.

Time is the most precious resource we have at our disposal. On this earth we have a limited amount of time to spend with family, friends and loved ones. We are all given twenty-four hours in a day, yet many feel that is not enough time. Some folks seem to  be able to squeeze much more than the average healthy person gets from their day than others. There are those who carelessly squander away time, not considering the need to use it wisely.

(Sweetwater- blog Dec. 2018)”Our time should be spent abounding in the work of the Lord,” in the multiple opportunities to serve. Beloved, take heed to spend time doing good, and in taking every opportunity to do so. A believer’s  mind ought to be spent on things above and not things on the earth. The truth is, so many of us are far from doing good and feasting our minds on things above. Time is fleeting. Work while it is day. For, there will come a time when it is night and no man can work (John 9:4). Our time should be spent reading, studying and meditating on God’s Word ( Ps. 119:148). From God’s Word, we get to know who God is and His will for our lives. Our Bible teaches us that His Word is sweet (Ps. 119:103); very pure (Ps. 119:140); Your word is a lamp (Ps.119:105); gives light (Ps. 119:130); is righteous (Ps. 119:123); Your Word gives us life (Ps. 119:50); and there is hope in God’s Word (Ps. 119:74b; 119:114, and 119:147). From God’s Word, we learn to pray, forgive, the plan of salvation, what sin is and that His Word became flesh (John 1:14).

Beloved, use your time wisely, for time is precious, priceless and  yes, it’s free.

Prayer: Our Father, who is in Heaven, Holy is Your Name. You have given Your children one of the most precious resource call time. You are the only one who can give time to men and desire that we(I) make the most of the gift of time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Amen Sis. Novella! Lord God thank you for revealing to me all the time I wasted in the past not investing in you. Thank you Father for taking the time to invest in me when I surely didn't deserve it. Thank you Lord for being right on time to save me from my worst impulses. And thank you Father for reminding us that time is short, and right now, in Jesus name I pray.
