Aspiring and Becoming

Scripture:  Psalms 1:1-2  Blessed is the man that walkers not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitters in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Often, I think about my progress; how am I doing in the area of looking more like Christ; how am I doing walking from faith to faith.  Daily, I am confronted with so many distractions, options and opinions.  There is so much stimulation coming from home, work, radio, and social media.  I have to stop and make a conscious effort to get away from all the noise to hear, yes, to meditate on the Word of the Lord.  For it is in Him, I am established.

Everything is trying to win me over so that I will not esteem my life in Christ and know the difference He makes in whatever circumstance.  Ps 61 says, when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I; and that Rock is the Lord.  Lord, Help me to walk in Your counsel.  I don’t want to be in the company of those who wish to steal the breath and life out of me.  But Lord cause me to rise and delight in You, Your Word, Your Ways and help me to keep Your statutes around my neck so that I will not be moved; that I would be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, bringing forth fruit and prospering (Ps. 1:3).

Prayer:  Lord, in these times, many have decided to walk away from the truth; but I want to be part of those who cleave to You and maintain the commitment to stand until the end.  I want to be part of the remnant who waits for You.  Knowing You are my Shelter and a Strong Tower!  I want to run to Him.  Lord, help me to find my strength in only You.

Lord, I want to be full of the courage You give.  I want to say like David, Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me, thy rod, thy staff, they comfort me.  Lord, I want to forever rest in the knowledge You will never leave me. I want to bring You Glory on earth as Your Glory resonates in Heaven.  Bless You, Oh God…In Jesus’ Name-Amen!
