Behold the Mirror

Scripture: II Corinthians 3:18 says - But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
The Bible says in Romans 12:3: For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. When we think with sober judgment, we are thinking free from exaggeration of ourselves, but rightly as to what we are becoming in Christ. As we learn to live in the light of God’s Word, we are being changed into His likeness. Sometimes you feel like a doormat – yet Christ became a doormat in death that we might become His righteousness in life. Sometimes you feel like proving yourself – yet Christ knew who He was, why He came and He completed His mission. Sometimes you want to fulfill your agenda without seeking God’s guid¬ance – yet Christ prayed and sought the Father’s will to be done.
The Lord commissioned Moses to meet Him on Mt. Sinai for the giving of the law to God’s people. When he came down his face reflected a glory that he had been in the presence of God. But as glorious as Moses’ face was, it was a fading glory. Only the gospel had power to transform sinners from the inside out into the image of Christ for an eternal glory.
Transformation comes by renewing our minds through the Word of God. Our actions and reac¬tions are influenced by the discipline of reading, studying, believing and obeying the Bible. The Holy Spirit empowers us through these disciplines to produce in us the assurance and confidence of who we are in Christ. When we walk in humility, God says that He will exalt us in due time – which is His time. What does God say about me and do I believe it?
Prayer: Lord, I want to look more like You. Yes, to pray that means that it will be a cost but Your thoughts and ways are perfect and You will always work things together for my good and Your glory.
