A Stormy Forecast

Scripture: Psalm 91:1-5 - He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence.4 He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Certainly, storms come and go
Challenging conditions, as I look out my window
My bad days are outweighing my good days
Prepared for sunshine, but storms stop the parade
Like fog and floods, like thunder and lightening
The troubles that are before me are just as frightening
My prayers are continuous, seemingly aren’t working
My days are still cloudy, considering I’m still hurting
Lord, You told me to draw near, well, I’m here
Even when the Holy Spirit speaks, I can’t hear
These storms are creating a great big mess
Are you sure the right person was chosen for these tests?
I can no longer take these demands and pressures
My pain is the result of constant stormy weather
I’m sure the conditions you designed are not by mistake
But, I’m soaking wet from tears, I need a spring break
I’m willing and ready to submit my heart to You
But, when I cover one patch, other storms come through
So, I prepared differently for the stormy forecast coming through
I failed weathering storms, so there is one option, You!
Lord, give me insight on what needs to change
I’ve noticed in the seasons, You remain the same
Cover me with Your promises, cover me Your covenant
My trust is with You during my spiritual development
Storms are temporary, Your faithfulness is discovered
A refuge in all conditions, like a divine umbrella
I’m delivered, yet, the stormy rain hasn’t stopped
But now, I’m standing by faith, shielded and dry
Prayer: Lord, there are no doubts storms will come. Surely, they may cause a mess. But, if You are for us, who or what can be against us. You promised us that You will be there in our troubles. Once it was a day, our prayers requested for nothing to happen bad or challenging. However, as we grow, our prayers consist of asking for a stronger back to withstand what’s coming. You are bigger than any storm we can face. Hallelujah! Continue to be with us, Lord. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
