The Impression of a Mother

Scripture  Proverbs 31:25-30 - Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come. 26 She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: 29 "Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all." 30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.

MA! I LOVE YOU!

You have left an enormous impression
The wit, the encouragement, the lessons

I honor you for the endless devotion
When challenges arise, you kept things in motion

For certain, I remember the times
So many great moments, I often rewind

Your instructions are filled with wisdom
Our stress and rest beds are your bosoms

MA! I ADORE YOU!

You have a way of making something out of nothing
Daddy was strong, but for you, we came running

You were up before us, and still awoke when we were sleep
Our house was a home, with just enough food to eat

You modeled what serving and caring is all about
You nurtured in love and spoke wisdom from your mouth

You were praying for us, even when we didn’t know it
My dreams were encouraged, once you said, go for it

MA! YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION!

Your love is tattooed on my soul
I will repeat your words as I grow old

My children will echo the songs you sing
I pray for a fraction of your caring instincts

I thank the Lord for giving you to me
Learning through the personal touch of just sitting on your knee

All that I am and ever hope to be
It’s because of the impression you made on me

Prayer:  Lord, You uniquely made mothers. We are thankful for all of them. Although every household, family, or mother’s story may not be the same, each little boy or little girl always had You to sustain them. Raise more God-fearing mothers Lord. I pray this prayer in the name of Jesus.
