Shaking Up the World

Scripture:  Hebrews 12:25-29 - See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” 27 Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire.

What I see physically is not the end of the story
What I believe spiritually, will bring the Lord glory

I’m not buying into conspiracies, theories, or popular opinion
I believe the Lord uses tragedies to get our undivided attention

His heavenly alarm clock is sounding off
Unpleasant measures must take place for Him to get His point across

Clearly, the world has grown comfortable and egregious
So, the Lord allows divine interruption through the affairs of people

No longer He wants to be marginalized
No longer He wants to be second to what we idolize

We have replaced the Lord with worldly resources
Totally forgetting, the Source, with no precaution

He is not looking for us to recite a song or pledge to console ourselves
He is looking for His rightful position, His honor and glory, and allegiance to Himself

We have wandered from Him, we have taken Him for granted
We’ve given scientist, news reporters, and social media the divine advantage

So, we may experience grief, but He is seizing this spiritual opportunity
Orchestrating a new growth and new life throughout families and communities

Now, we have the doctors, nurses, and leaders coming together to join forces
Unlikely people, groups, and organizations finally hearing each other’s voices

We have been forced to offer and suggest to others how to be more responsible and careful
Governing ourselves through love, protection, and healthier standards

As a result, we are not just saying we are one nation under God
But, we are finally acting and functioning like one nation under God

These viruses, epidemics, and pandemics are all allowed to cause havoc
Each serves a higher purpose beyond chance, luck, conspiracy, or magic

Therefore, we ought to be encouraged because these matters don’t own us
It’s simply an alert or signal to redirect us back to who truly owns us

Today, we gain spiritual understanding and an urgent outlook on life
The world is shaken, while finally calling the name Jesus Christ

Prayer:  Lord, we are humbled! We hear You loud and clear. We lift our hands asking for renewal, redirection, and repentance. Have mercy on Your people and this world. We have taken You for granted. Father, forgive us! Teach us the way we should go. You are worthy of so much praise. We are seeking Your face Father, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
