A.C.C.E.P.T. The Way of Peace (Part I)

Scripture: Romans 3:17 (NKJV)  - “And the way of peace they have not known.”

It has been said that 90% of what happens to each of us isn’t nearly as important as our chosen RESPONSE to it. We must discipline ourselves to “RELAX: DON’T REACT,” to quote radio pastor John MacArthur.   A determination to follow our Lord’s pathway of peace will contribute much to our experiencing joy and tranquility  in a world mired in turmoil and  perpetual conflict amongst individuals and nations.

Consider God’s statement to us in Isaiah 55:8 –“…my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways..”  This verse alone should  encourage us to release the notion that we’re going to understand everything, or even much, of what happens to us, or that does not happen FOR us in this life; yet, we’re urged throughout Scripture to daily  practice (A) ASKING God for His help  (Psalm 121:2; Hebrews 14:6).  Even in our occasional faith failings, He bids us to ask Him for help.  (Mark 9:24) He is our Elohim Ozer Li—God our Help!  We’re called to confidently cast every care upon Him--to cease striving and KNOW that He is God! (Ps. 46:10) Obviously, these commands run contrary to the long-standing secular dogma of  the ages, which promotes the idea that we are the “masters of our fate and captains of our own souls,” as one atheistic poet from the early 20th century wrote.  Rather, our Deliverer invites us to: (C) CONFESS our transgressions to Him, so that there will nothing between our Lord and ourselves, hindering the sweet communion and peace that Jesus’ death and resurrection accomplished for us at Calvary.

Prayer:  Dear Father,  help us today to A.C.C.E.P.T. YOUR revealed pathway of peace and to shun that chosen by the Israelites of old who were not profited by the word which they heard, because it was not mixed with faith in those who heard it. (Heb. 4:2) Thank You, in Jesus’ name.
